Careers

As a rapidly growing company in a dynamic sector, ECSC is always interested in hearing from individuals who are keen to develop their skills and knowledge in cyber security. We have a range of roles in our Security Operations Centre, along with other field-based opportunities.

At present, ECSC has a dedicated in-house recruitment department and, as such, we are not looking to engage the services of any third-party recruiters at this time. We will update this page should this change in the future.

Please refer to our Job Applicant Privacy Notice for information relating to how your personal data will be handled.

Cyber Security Incident Responder

£40,000 - £70,000 p.a.
Full-time, permanent, flexible home, client site and Yorkshire office-based (UK)

This is not a 9 to 5 job. You'll be reacting, sometimes in the middle of the night, racing to find and close hacking point of entries. You'll be regularly saving businesses, and your clients will love you. You'll be challenged technically, and there won't be a day where you will not learn something new.

If you have a real passion for cyber security, then we'd love to hear from you. Exact experience to-date isn't critical. Your starting salary will reflect where you are in your development.

We've been doing incident response for 20 years and love it. Our 90%+ staff retention rate is testament to our team approach, and commitment to staff development at all levels.

ECSC runs 24/7/365 managed cyber security services from UK and Australian Security Operations Centres, in addition to a range of consulting and cyber security testing services. We have our own technologies developed over the last 20 years. ECSC serves a wide range of clients from small start-ups to multi-nationals, including 10% of the FTSE 100.

Typically, our Incident Responders are on-call for about a third of their time outside the normal working day. We operate a flexible working arrangement with recovery days appropriate for the nature of the work. Major incidents may involve working away from home on clients sites. This typically isn't more than a week in any single month, as most incidents are recovered remotely.

Now the technical paragraph. We respond to anything from a Nation State hack to the latest zero-day RCE via Revil ransomware. You should not be afraid of un-XORing a Powershell payload, you must be fluent in CLI, and also have a good understanding of networks, firewalls, PCAP, log analysis.

Any red, blue, purple (or original colour) team experience would be of interest to us.

We support employees in gaining additional qualifications, from security certifications to master degrees. We are interested in learning about your future career aspirations, and how we can support them.

If you feel that your experience, career plans and future aspirations can be met in this role, then send us a summary of your experience so far. Tell us what you enjoy and what you are looking for.

Benefits

As well as a great company culture, and opportunities for career progression, we offer a generous package including:

  • Basic salary of £40,000 - £70,000 per annum, depending upon skills and experience to-date
  • Usual holidays (taken when you can)
  • Company pension scheme
  • Private healthcare
  • Life insurance
