Cyber Security Researcher/Analyst

£26,500 – £28,000 p.a. (depending on experience) + Enhancements
Full-time, permanent, office-based (Bradford, UK)

This is an opportunity to join the UK’s, longest standing, and leading cyber security full-service provider. As part of our ongoing growth (our Managed Services Division grew 48% in 2019), ECSC Group plc is expanding its Security Operations Centre team to include an additional Cyber Security Researcher/Analyst to provide “Blue Team” functions to the SOC to support the defence of our clients’ systems.

The Role

Reporting directly to the SOC Manager, you will:

  • Maintain the security of our clients’ systems, and help the team to protect, detect and respond to security incidents
  • Understand how threat attacks to clients’ systems can be applied, detected and defended against through continuous learning and skills development
  • Perform research and analysis of threat attacks as they are played out
  • Develop responses to attacks and communicate these to the client within SLAs
  • Continuously develop and adapt the systems that we build and manage to ensure they maintain security in the face of new threats to, and changes in, the clients’ environments

Required Skills & Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar cyber security role
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity threats, attacks. Knowledge of target systems
  • Understanding of modern computer networking
  • Knowledge in key functional areas including TCP/IP networking, Linux Operating Systems, iptables firewalling, Ossec/Wazuh, Squid, Apache, Nginx, postfix, Snort, Suricata, Bro, Modsecurity
  • Scripting and secure configuration of systems
  • Security management of other systems including Windows, Cisco is also desirable

Business Development Executive - Cyber Security

£25k-£40k + car, with £50k-£75k OTE
Full-time, permanent, remote (Southern-based in UK)

Whilst beneficial, previous experience in cyber security, network services or IT, is not a requirement.

This is a new business and business development role dealing with clients of all sizes and from all sectors. You will join a successful sales team that is supported by an ongoing training programme and an active telemarking team whose principle role is to help you book meetings.

The role is field based (although, of course, most of our meetings are currently taking place over Zoom).

  • Grow and develop the relationship with new and existing clients through regular and consistent engagement
  • Show a passion to help new and existing clients by understanding their needs and requirements
  • Be responsible for achieving sales performance targets
  • Provide the management team with accurate activity reports, client information and forecasting
  • Work closely with the marketing and internal sales support teams to maximise sales performance and client acquisition
  • When, and where, appropriate travel throughout the UK

Required Skills & Experience

  • 1 year sales experience in a new business or sales development role
  • Be able to demonstrate the ability to identify and close business
  • Well developed communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to to understand (sometimes complex) client needs, translate these into viable service offerings, and articulate solutions to all levels
  • Motivated and a willingness to learn
  • Whilst an awareness of cyber security would be useful, it is not essential

Business Development Manager – Cyber Security

Infrastructure Manager

£40,000 - £50,000 p.a.
Full-time, permanent, Bradford office-based (UK)

As part of our ongoing growth (our Managed Services Division grew 48% in 2019), ECSC Group plc is expanding its technical team to include an Infrastructure Manager with responsibility for the management of ECSC’s infrastructure and systems (largely Linux based). Whilst beneficial, previous experience in cyber security is not a requirement.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Labs Manager, the Infrastructure Manager will be responsible for:

  • Management of ECSC infrastructure and systems throughout their lifecycle, inc. maintenance, asset inventory/tracking, availability of servers, networking, telephony, cabling within all data centres, server rooms and offices
  • Disaster Recovery (DR) and Backups - ensuring ECSC's critical systems are able to recover within expected recovery time objectives in the event of unexpected outages
  • Line management of a Technical Support Engineer, inc. performance monitoring, personal development, training
  • End user IT support processes and communication
  • 2nd line technical escalation for responding to issues relating to ECSC services, including participation in out-of-hours rota
  • Technical ownership of IT supplier relationships liaising closely with the Finance team to ensure services being provided are appropriate and value-for-money, ensuring they meet the needs of the business

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3 years of relevant IT management (people and/or systems) responsibility for a technology company (headcount of 100+)
  • Strong Linux (preferably Red Hat/CentOS) system administration skills and relevant qualifications (such as RHCE) demonstrating competence in this critical area
  • Strong networking experience and knowledge
  • Experience of virtualisation technologies
  • Advantageous to have knowledge of orchestration/automation technologies such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef
  • Cyber security mindset, and understanding of fundamentals of securing a system and network
  • Ability to work independently, manage own workload and multi-task
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal, with an ability to translate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders

Cyber Security Service Delivery Manager

The Role

Reporting directly to the Service Delivery Director, the Service Delivery Manager will:

  • Own the relationship, and client management activities, for a portfolio of managed service clients, and act as the clients' advocate/primary escalation point
  • Monitor that the Managed Services ECSC provides meets the requirements set out within the client’s contract
  • Develop client Service Improvement Plans to ensure both client return-on-investment and improve service renewal opportunities
  • Identify potential commercial opportunities within their client portfolio and liaise with the relevant ECSC team
  • Be responsible for accurate reporting both to the client and ECSC management team

Required Skills & Experience

  • Extensive service delivery experience, including 2 years within IT outsourced managed services
  • The ability to communicate between the technical and non-technical at all levels within an organisation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly motivated with a pragmatic business acumen
  • Proficient in problem-solving, decision-making and negotiation
  • Whilst an awareness cyber security would be useful, it is not essential
  • Ability to solve issues and unblock potential problems, maintaining the delivery quality
  • Excellent collaboration and partnering skills
  • Ability to prioritise and multi-task

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Accounts Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Assisting with all aspects of Purchase Ledger
  • Month-end support, including inputting journals
  • Partner invoice tracking
  • Maintaining spreadsheets, including accruals and prepayments, leasing, utilities, fixed assets and contracts
  • Payroll support, including P11D
  • Ad-hoc office administration

Required Skills & Experience

  • A minimum of 1 years’ relevant accounts experience
  • Good Excel skills essential
  • AAT desirable
  • Sage 50 experience desirable
  • A keen eye for detail and the ability to plan and prioritise a busy workload
  • A strong team working ethic
