Cyber Security Engineer / Senior Engineer (West Yorkshire)

This is an opportunity to join one of the UK’s leading cyber security managed services providers. As part of our rapid growth, ECSC Group plc is expanding its Security Operations Centre (SOC) team, with permanent roles for office-based security engineers and senior engineers.

This is a great opportunity to establish, or further develop, your career in cyber security. Our SOC engineers are supported through a range of industry certifications and internal ECSC training. Future progression can be either into designing ECSC's bespoke technology solutions, conducting breach investigations, or moving into a consulting role (often as part of the penetration testing team).

As ECSC runs 24/7/365 SOC facilities in West Yorkshire and Brisbane, Australia, technical engineer roles involve 7 days shift patterns (usually involving one weekend in four), but do not require night shifts. We manage cyber security protection, such as firewalls, IPS and WAF devices, and we conduct monitoring and alerting through logging and IDS systems. We also respond to incidents, and involvement in these response teams can involve occasional extended hours and on-site client investigations. Our Engineers also have the opportunity to undertake 4-6 month placements in our mirror facility in Brisbane, should they wish.

You may already be working in a similar role, or wish to move into this exciting growing area. Either way, you should have real in-depth technical understanding of networking protocols and security fundamentals, and a genuine interest in the latest security threats, developments and news. As our own technologies are Linux-based, experience in this area will be an advantage.

Formal qualifications, such as RHCE, CCNA, CISSP, and OSCP may be beneficial, but are not a requirement for applicants.

ECSC team members benefit from 25 days’ holiday, plus bank holidays, expenses, pension, private healthcare, and optional company car. Salary packages range from £24,000 to £40,000 depending on skills and experience.
