IT Operations Manager

Bradford, West Yorkshire
£40,000 to £55,000 - DoE
Full-Time, Permanent

Are you an experienced IT Operations Manager, with experience in the provision of IT services, either internally or as an IT service provider? Do you want to further develop your career in the exciting, fast-growing area of cyber security?

This is an opportunity to join one of the UK’s leading cyber security service providers. As part of our ongoing growth (our Managed Services Division grew 56% in 2018), ECSC is expanding its managed cyber security services team to include an IT Operations Manager based in our Security Operations Centre, Bradford, West Yorkshire. Previous experience in cyber security is not a requirement.

ECSC runs 24/7/365 managed cyber security services, including breach prevention, detection, and incident response. We have our own technologies developed over the last 18 years. Together with consulting services ECSC serves a wide range of clients from small start-ups to multi-nationals, including 10% of the FTSE 100.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Service Delivery Director, the IT Operations Manager will be responsible for:

  • Co-ordinating a 24/7/365 SOC team, operating out of Bradford, West Yorkshire, and Brisbane, Australia. Travel to Australia is not essential, however an annual two week trip is preferred
  • Ensuring excellent client service in all aspects of service delivery
  • Line managing, and developing, an expanding team of Analysts and Engineers, supported by an Australian Team Leader
  • Developing operational procedures, and supporting ongoing certifications that include ISO 20000 (ITIL)
  • Integrating new technologies and services as required
  • Co-ordinating with the Service Delivery Management function, and the ECSC Labs technology development teams
  • Undertaking limited out-of-hours duties as necessary, although the role is primarily normal office hours

Required Skills & Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years’ IT operational management experience
  • Thorough understanding of IT operational processes, from analysis and design through to implementation, maintenance, and reporting
  • Proven track record in the effective management and development of IT technical people at all levels, from Apprentices through to Senior Analysts/Engineers
  • Working knowledge of ITIL
  • Whilst knowledge of cyber security would be useful, we already have that in abundance and we are sure you'll learn quickly in this environment
