Consultants - Incident Response
Over 15 years, ECSC has developed an unrivalled reputation for quality delivery of security projects to an impressive client list. Our consultants play a key role in developing these services, with roles including: penetration and web application testing, social engineering tests, code review, and PCI DSS and ISO 27001 compliance. We also help clients fix the problems that we find. Where necessary, tests are designed to meet CREST and PCI DSS requirements.
We encourage our consultants to be able to work across more than one area of consulting. We support ongoing career development, including formal qualifications, ranging from industry specific certifications, such as the well respected CISSP, to full degrees and masters qualifications.
As a consultant, you should enjoy a large portion of on-site client engagements, including some international travel. When not on a client site, you can be home-based, and do not need to be near one of our offices. Benefits include private healthcare, car (or allowance), and full expenses for all client engagements.

Incident Response Service Director
£70,000 to £100,000 (dep. on skills & experience)
Are you an experienced cyber security professional, with extensive incident response experience, looking to further develop your career in a senior management position? Do you have the capability to develop innovative new service offerings and manage a dedicated and professional team?
Following a successful flotation at the end of 2016, ECSC Group plc is undertaking a period of rapid expansion and large scale recruitment.
The position of Service Director for the incident response team has become available due to expansion of this service offering. The successful individual will report directly to the Managing Director and take responsibility for:
- Coordinating all incident response engagements, with direct involvement in major incidents.
- Training and development of the incident response team.
- Research and internal development of new tools and techniques to support incident response and investigations.
- Post-incident client liaison and follow-up.
- Ongoing review of process and associated documentation.
Due to the nature of incident response, the Service Director role has an element of 24/7 on-call responsibility and you must be prepared to travel to client sites (usually in the UK) at very short notice and, and in some cases, stay for a week or more.
When not on client sites, the role will be based at the ECSC UK Security Operations Centre, in Bradford, West Yorkshire.
ECSC has a track record of successful incident response, including solving major incidents for a number of high profile brands. Our support includes:
- 24/7/365 Security Operations Centre engineer availability for initial response.
- Dedicated managed service devices for incident detection and investigation.
- Forensic investigation capability.
- Specialist consulting and testing team available to support investigations and post-incident development.
Our Incident Response team is also responsible for conducting routine ECSC Cyber Security Reviews. These utilise a custom methodology to report an organisation's current risk profile, and its ability to prevent and detect cyber security breaches, to senior managers and directors.
